A reservoir, a treatment plant, a pumping station. A technician, often alone, opens the hatch with one hand. Below, a drop of several metres, and the fall protection grid, closed. They lift it, and it drops back down once they are through. Then they climb down the caged ladder.
They don’t look at the equipment. They count on it.
Corrosion, the weight of the hatch, the date of the last inspection: at that moment, none of it is on their mind. It is up to you, and to us, to have thought of it beforehand.
